Gibbs Jennifer Saunders has been a leader in the fitness industry for over 20 years. Gibbs earned her master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Columbia University. Most recently, she specialized in youth fitness strategies and was the sole consultant for the State of New Mexico Healthy Kids program, a state-wide physical activity initiative aimed at fighting childhood obesity. Gibbs also served as the Fitness & Wellness Department Chair at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, where she developed, taught and implemented academic fitness education strategies for the college.
As the Managing Director at Healthworks Community Fitness, Gibbs has launched aggressive programming with an evidence-based approach, including Fitspiration! (a youth wellness program) and Woman, Be Fit (a physical activity and nutrition intervention program for women), both of which have brought validity and acclaim to an organization that has been recognized by Boston’s mayor for innovation in health care and reached over 350 individuals in the last year. Additionally, her approach of teaching holistic fitness integrates the relationship between a fit body and self-sufficient empowered lifestyle. Finally, Gibbs’ ability to develop and cultivate partnerships has brought new funding and dynamic partners to HCF, including The Daily Table, Boston Public Schools and the Harvard JFK School of Government.
Healthworks Community Fitness Staff:
Group Exercise Director/Youth Fitness Coordinator
Darcel is the Group Exercise Director of Healthworks Community Fitness as well as a Personal Trainer. She has a master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from Simmons College and taught within the Boston Public Schools for 8 years. She is a NASM certified personal trainer with specializations in youth fitness, weight loss management and fitness nutrition. Darcel is also a Beachbody LIVE group fitness instructor certified to teach PiYo, Turbo Kick, Insanity and CIZE live formats.
Elderly Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer
Percess Williamson, B.A., CPT
Percess is the Elderly Fitness Specialist and Head Personal Trainer at HCF. She also works in the surrounding neighborhoods, where she teaches fitness to the elderly population. Percess has six years of experience in fitness. She is a NASM certified personal trainer and nutrition specialist and holds a B.A. from Framingham State College. She is also a graduate of the American Academy of Personal Training. Percess’ passion is empowering women through fitness, which she demonstrates by leading HCF’s Woman, Be Fit program. Percess’ philosophy is that fitness starts by changing the way you think and, in the process, making a serious commitment to yourself.
Front Desk Lead
Daintylee Aman, B.S.H.S
Daintylee is the Front Desk/Lead Manager at HCF. She began working at HCF in July of 2015. She has a bachelor’s degree in Health Science and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at UMass Boston. Daintylee is extremely passionate about health as a whole and about helping those in need.
Childcare Coordinator/Member Associate
Vanessa is a Boston native who has worked in the surgery side of healthcare for over 30 years. After spending the last 25 years between Atlanta, GA and Redding, CA, Vanessa is happy to be back at home. She joined the HCF team in April of 2016 and is very grateful to be a part of the Codman Square Health Center Family at Healthworks and their joint initiative with Healthworks Community Fitness and The Daily Table, all of which are doing great things for the well-being of families in Dorchester and throughout the Greater Boston area.
Communications and Marketing Coordinator
Anna received her B.A. in Communications and Spanish from Clark University in May 2016. Anna worked as a Social Media Intern at Healthworks in the summer of 2014 and is delighted to be back at an organization that does such important work. A Boston native, Anna aims to use her writing and communications skills to help those in need.

Girl Almighty Teen Fitness Program
Girl Almighty is a 4-week comprehensive fitness training program for teen girls (ages 13-18) from Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan who are at risk for chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity.
